If you are not doing what you are doing, then where would you be?

7am already! Have to rush for my swimming session and I have a busy day ahead. Reach office on time, have meetings to do and have to attend house warming of my friend tonight. And more work to do (#@$@#$ @#$@# $@#$)
Who cares if I catch a fish?
We are all tightly packed in our daily schedule and always have something to be taken care off. Yesterday my wife asked me a simple question:
"If you are not doing your job and I am also not bound by anything, where would we be living?"
Let’s say you had a blank day staring at you. You didn’t have to work. You could do anything at all (although money is still a limiting factor). What would your perfect day be like?
I've got it down to four words: "Do what you love." But it's not enough just to tell people that. Doing what you love is complicated.


Don't just pass on the days to secure your present or future. At times live the moment and enjoy your life at its peak. Design your life so that you do not regret. Perhaps you already are what you want to be. But that happens with very few of us and we need to consciously design our life by our own, following our wishes.
Following points can help you decide where you want to be:
  • Figure out what is your passion - You should choose what you like at the moment. Many a times your passion gets diluted when you get into it. That is fine, just be flexible enough to follow yourself with a new passion at that time. But for now figure out what you would like to do and do it. That way you would not regret that you missed it out.
  • Identify your constraints - Let us face it. We have responsibilities and also other limiting factors that we can not avoid. Figure a way out to carry your passions within your limiting factors. Don't let your constraints be roadblocks in they way to fulfill your dreams. At the same time do not just neglect them.
  • Set goals and mark milestones - See where you want to reach and divide your goals in sub tasks. Mark a timeline of each sub task and be realistic with timelines. Do not worry about failure but be energetic and confident to carry it out.
  • Start today - Even if small, make a change in your life style today towards your goal. Do not postpone it for next week, month and so on. It has to be now!
It is not the count of moments you lived that define your life, but it is the moments you can count that defines your life.
